Driver's license becomes mandatory for scooter and moped drivers

In accordance with a new resolution adopted by the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, important changes and additions have been made to traffic regulations. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to this update, requirements for operating motor vehicles on the road, including scooters and mopeds, have been further tightened. From now on, an A1 category driver's license is mandatory for operating not only scooters and mopeds but also small motor vehicles with a speed of up to twenty-five kilometers per hour, an engine displacement of up to twenty-five cubic centimeters, or a power output of up to zero point twenty-five kilowatts.
As a reminder, in October of last year, a special A1 category driver's license was introduced to create convenience for scooter and moped riders and to ensure road safety. At that time, many citizens did not take this news very seriously and considered compliance with the rules a secondary matter.
However, current regulations now clearly stipulate that a driver's license is required for all types of small-sized vehicles, including electric scooters. The main goal of these changes is to prevent various untoward incidents occurring on the roads and to guarantee the safety of all participants.
From now on, every person using this type of vehicle must have an excellent knowledge of traffic rules and possess the appropriate documentation. Taking responsibility while operating a vehicle is important not only for the driver's own health but also for that of pedestrians.
Therefore, all citizens are requested to comply with the new rules and obtain the necessary driver's licenses in a timely manner. Such changes in legislation serve to strengthen order and discipline.
