Lada cars official distributor in Germany declared bankrupt

Lada Deutschland GmbH, the official distributor of Lada cars in Germany, has ceased operations and initiated bankruptcy proceedings, Zamin.uz reported.
The company, which had successfully operated in the German market for over half a century, was forced to shut down its business due to its inability to find new investors. This information is being widely circulated in international media outlets.
The company's descent into insolvency had begun several years earlier. In particular, in 2019, the European Union significantly tightened its environmental requirements.
As a result, the official import of Lada models into the European territory was halted. Nevertheless, the importing company tried to maintain its market position by leveraging low prices and consumers' specific interest, bringing the popular Niva off-road vehicles in alongside passenger cars.
However, the situation worsened after 2022. The sanctions imposed on Russia and the disruption of logistics chains completely eliminated the possibility of delivering automobiles and spare parts.
This situation created instability for the business's steady development. The company attempted to overcome the situation by seeking cooperation with Chinese brands such as JAC Motors and Dayun, but these efforts did not yield the expected financial results.
According to statistical data, in recent years, the sales of Lada cars in Germany have sharply declined. Whereas in previous periods, over a thousand cars were sold annually, today this figure has dropped to a level countable on the fingers of one hand.
It is worth noting that this company once held an important position in the German automotive market and even played a role in Kia brand's first entry into this country. Nowadays, the era of Lada in Germany is officially coming to an end.
