The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan has issued an official warning to LLC "Talent Show," the organizer of the "Ovoz" project, regarding copyright infringement. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This case is related to the unauthorized use of the song "Qora ko‘zli sanamjon," which belongs to People's Artist Sherali Juraev. During the investigation, it was found that the phonogram of this song was made publicly available on the official YouTube channel named "The Voice of Uzbekistan," but permission was not obtained from the copyright holders or their representatives.
The management of "Talent Show" promptly responded to the situation and rectified the violation before the conclusion of the investigation. Therefore, instead of taking strict measures, the Ministry of Justice decided to issue only an official warning.
At the same time, the ministry reminded all media entities operating in the field about the necessity to respect copyright laws. According to current legislation, particularly the Law "On Copyright and Related Rights," penalties ranging from 20 to 1000 base calculation units may be imposed for such violations.
The Ministry of Justice calls on television channels, radio stations, and other content users to strictly comply with legal requirements. For complaints and appeals regarding copyright infringement cases, the "1008" hotline is operational, and it is also possible to contact via the email address [email protected].
In accordance with the legislation of Uzbekistan, copyright, the right to a name, and the right to protect the author's reputation remain preserved for centuries, even after the work has become public property. These rights play a significant role in protecting the creative legacy of the author.
