The 82nd Venice International Film Festival announced its winners. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The famous American director Jim Jarmusch's film “Paterson” was awarded the festival's most prestigious prize — the “Golden Lion.” This was the first time Jarmusch received this high honor.
The film, a co-production of the USA, Ireland, and France, consists of three stories depicting relationships within families and between parents and children. It features well-known actors such as Mayim Bialik, Cate Blanchett, and Adam Driver.
Additionally, Benny Safdie received the “Silver Lion” award for “Best Director.” He presented the sports drama “Crash Machine” about MMA fighter Mark Kerr, who became famous in the 2000s, at the Venice festival.
At the premiere ceremony, Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, who played the lead role, could not hold back his emotions. Another significant award of the festival was given to Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania for the film “The Voice of Hind Rajab.”
This work depicts the story of the rescue of a 6-year-old girl living in Gaza. The Venice Film Festival once again made a significant contribution to the development of cinematic art this year.
