French renowned actor, 76-year-old Gérard Depardieu is once again facing court over allegations of sexual assault and rape. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Guardian reported on this matter. Actress Charlotte Arnould, who is the daughter of the actor's former friend, states that she has known him since childhood.
According to her, in the summer of 2018, at the age of 22, she was raped twice at Gérard Depardieu's home in Paris. After that, the actress filed a complaint with the gendarmerie in southern France.
Charlotte emphasized on social media that she endured great suffering for seven years and felt some relief after filing the complaint. Gérard Depardieu firmly denies all accusations, stating that the events occurred with mutual consent.
In a letter published in Le Figaro in 2023, he stated that he has never raped a woman. Additionally, the actor has previously been convicted of other crimes.
He was sentenced by the court for insulting and harassing artist Amélie, a 53-year-old producer, and a 33-year-old assistant director. In May 2025, he was sentenced to 18 months of suspended imprisonment for violence against two women.
Furthermore, Depardieu was deprived of civil rights, including the right to participate in elections, for two years. The actor has also been added to the list of sex offenders.
