An arrest warrant has been issued against actress Hande Erçel.

The Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office has issued an arrest warrant against the famous Turkish actress Hande Erçel as part of investigations related to drug offenses. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This significant news was highlighted in Turkey's prestigious "Cumhuriyet" newspaper on March 25. According to reports, the actress was in London, the capital of Great Britain, at the time the arrest decision was made.
Currently, she is with her boyfriend Onur Güvenatam and is returning to her homeland to clarify the situation and answer all questions. In her initial statement posted on her social media page, Hande Erçel emphasized that she has been abroad for over a month due to reasons related to her studies.
In her words, she stated that she learned about this incident through the media last evening, just like other people, and also said that she would soon return to Turkey to provide necessary explanations in order to fully clarify the situation. The actress expressed that she is a person who looks at her homeland with boundless love and has deep faith in the state and judicial system.
According to her, all questions will find their answers in the near future and the matter will be resolved. Within the framework of the ongoing investigation in Istanbul, arrest decisions were made against a total of sixteen individuals.
So far, all but four of them, that is, fourteen people, have been arrested. Prominent business and public figures are also involved in this case.
Among those arrested are the famous industrialist Hakan Sabancı and his brother Kerim Sabancı, as well as former head of the Galatasaray football club Burak Elmas and former president of the Beşiktaş team Fikret Orman. Additionally, former models Güzin Duran and Didem Soydan are also listed.
It should be noted that the long-term romantic relationship between Hande Erçel and Hakan Sabancı ended in August 2025. Investigators are examining all evidence regarding this case, and new information is expected to be provided to the public soon.
