Beloved Shrek animated film celebrates its quarter-century anniversary

One of the most famous and beloved animated works in the world, the Shrek film series is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Zamin.uz reports.
First released on the big screen in 2001, this work caused a real revolution in the world of animation at the time. Interestingly, these adventures, aimed at a wide audience, were based on a children's book by the well-known writer William Steig.
Despite the passage of years, the story of the green ogre and his loyal friends has not lost its charm or relevance. Following the unparalleled success of the first part, the creators continued to release new adventures one after another.
In particular, sequels were released in 2004, 2007, and 2010, which also won the hearts of millions of viewers worldwide. Today, the joyful news that millions of fans are eagerly awaiting is that work is underway on the fifth installment of Shrek.
According to plans, the new adventures are expected to hit the big screens in the summer of 2027. Shrek is not just an entertaining film—it is a work with deep philosophical meaning.
Through the film, viewers are given a number of important life lessons. First and foremost, it is emphasized that outward appearance cannot fully reflect a person's inner world or true essence.
Moreover, it is stressed that achieving true happiness does not require wealth, fame, or unlimited power—what matters most is kindness in the heart. Throughout the story, the idea is promoted that no one is obligated to conform to artificial beauty standards imposed by society.
At the same time, the value of sincere friendship is skillfully portrayed, showing that loved ones should support each other in any difficult situation. Precisely because these human values are celebrated, the film remains equally valuable for all, regardless of age.
