The case regarding the violation of copyright against executor Batir Qodirov was reviewed based on the decision of the inter-district civil court of the Uchtepa district. This was reported by Upl.uz.
According to the court's decision, the artist was obliged to compensate for material and moral damages amounting to 132 million soums for the unauthorized use of the works of poet Shamsiddin Sadoyiy. This information was published by the press service of the Intellectual Property Protection Department under the Ministry of Justice.
The lawsuit of poet Shamsiddin Turaev, whose creative pseudonym is Sadoyiy, was submitted to the court in June 2025. The plaintiff demanded to stop the illegal use of his intellectual property and also to compensate for material and moral damages.
After reviewing the case documents, the court ordered the defendant to pay 112.5 million soums in compensation, as well as set a payment of 20 million soums for moral damages. This compensation is equivalent to 300 basic calculation amounts.
In addition to financial penalties, the court ordered Batir Qodirov to cease the performance and distribution of three songs — "While You Have a State," "Omonat," and "Listen, My Friend." This restriction applies to state and non-state television and radio channels, social networks, streaming platforms, and all other public places.
This is the third court case for Batir Qodirov regarding the violation of intellectual property rights. Previously, he was fined when a similar violation occurred upon a complaint from poet Shohruh Abduvahidov.
In the previous case, Qodirov was also fined 1.8 million soums. These cases demonstrate that the artist regularly violates legal requirements in the field of intellectual property.
