The latest exchange rates effective from August 23, 2025, indicate a continued decline in major foreign currencies against the local som. The US dollar opened at 12,413.79 soms, down by 52.65 soms from the previous day, signaling a weakening trend that is expected to persist tomorrow. Similarly, the euro fell by 48.90 soms to 14,468.27 soms, showing no sign of recovery in the immediate future.

The Russian ruble also dipped by 0.56 soms, trading at 154.86 soms, while the British pound decreased by 102.12 soms to 16,728.82 soms. The Japanese yen and Swiss franc followed the downward movement, dropping to 84.06 soms and 15,413.20 soms respectively. The Chinese yuan weakened by 7.53 soms, settling at 1,729.42 soms.

Forecasts for tomorrow suggest these currencies will maintain their current lower levels, continuing the trend of depreciation against the som. Market participants and travelers should prepare for these ongoing fluctuations in the foreign exchange market.
