OpenAI has officially registered as a taxpayer in Uzbekistan starting from April 8, 2025, according to the AiPulatov Telegram channel. The company paid 1.09 billion soums (approximately $84,000) in taxes to the budget in the first quarter of this year.

The average monthly revenue from subscribers in Uzbekistan is around $236,000, and the ChatGPT app ranked first in downloads on Android and iOS platforms in April 2025.

During 2024, there were over 42.73 million visits to the ChatGPT website from Uzbekistan. Currently, the number of paid users is estimated to be around 11,800, while the total number of users is estimated to be between 230,000 and over 400,000.

OpenAI is now among the TOP-5 largest foreign digital taxpayers in Uzbekistan, alongside Apple, Meta, Google, and TikTok.
