President visited the basalt plant operations in Surkhandarya

During his visit to Surkhandarya region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the operation of the basalt product manufacturing line at the “Surkhon Sandwich” enterprise located in Termiz district. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This enterprise holds significant importance in the field of construction materials production, especially at a time when large-scale construction works are underway in the country and the demand for energy-efficient products is increasing. The enterprise was established as a major project valued at 26 million dollars and has an annual capacity to process 30 thousand tons of basalt raw materials.
This capacity enables the enterprise to produce finished products worth 345 billion soums annually. The products are exported not only to the domestic market but also to Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
This turns the enterprise into an industrial center of regional importance. Another important aspect of the enterprise is that 95 percent of the raw materials are sourced locally, specifically from mines in the Oltinsoy district.
This reduces logistics costs and allows for efficient use of local resources. The use of modern technological equipment from China in production serves to improve product quality.
The enterprise provides permanent employment for 200 citizens, which is of great significance for the region. The creation of new jobs not only increases employment but also positively impacts the regional economy.
While familiarizing himself with the enterprise’s activities, the President emphasized the necessity to improve product quality, expand localization, and strengthen export potential. The issue of developing the construction materials sector on a scientific basis was also discussed.
The need to establish a scientific research institute for construction materials was noted. This will serve to develop the sector with innovations and new developments.
The President also reviewed a presentation of construction materials products manufactured in the region. This visit was an important step not only to review the activities of existing enterprises but also to support new economic opportunities, enhance export potential, and develop the regional industry.
At the end of the visit, the head of state departed for Tashkent.
