Large-scale new greenhouse complexes are being built in Sherobod district

The Presidential decree adopted on March 25, 2026, is an important step aimed at further developing the agricultural sector in our country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This document defines additional measures aimed at ensuring stable supply of local food products to the population during the autumn and winter seasons. The plan envisions expanding greenhouse farms across the republic in 2026 and 2027 and increasing their efficiency.
In particular, it is planned to build new greenhouse complexes based on modern technologies on at least 940 hectares of land in Sherobod district of Surxondaryo region. This project is of great importance not only for boosting the regional economy but also for creating many new jobs for the population.
At the same time, one of the tasks set is to increase the share of energy-saving and alternative source-based heating systems for greenhouses to at least half. Within the framework of the decree, the establishment of the Surxon-Agro free economic zone in Surxondaryo region is envisaged.
A number of benefits have been established for entrepreneurs and greenhouse owners operating in this zone. For example, when land plots are leased through electronic auctions, entrepreneurs are fully exempt from rental payments for five years.
In addition, favorable conditions are being created such as exemption from payment for irrigation and wastewater as well as underground water used in technological processes for greenhouses for a period of three years. These measures help reduce production costs and lower the final product cost.
Currently, under exceptional circumstances and in compliance with environmental requirements, coal burning is also allowed. This ensures that farmers and entrepreneurs can operate continuously during the winter season.
Overall, these comprehensive measures serve to modernize greenhouse farms, increase the volume of agricultural products, and provide the population with quality products throughout the year. As a result, the country's food security will be further strengthened and our economic independence will increase in the future.
