The number of foreign companies in the information sector is increasing in Uzbekistan

As of March 1, 2026, 1,242 foreign enterprises are operating in the information and communication sector in Uzbekistan, reports the National Statistics Committee. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the data, the largest share belongs to Russia, where 457 companies are operating. Following are Kazakhstan (113) and Belarus (63).
Additionally, other countries are also actively participating. For example, the United States has 58 companies, Turkey 51, and China 40 companies in the sector.
The remaining countries account for 341 companies. On the list, the United Arab Emirates holds 32, Japan 30, Tajikistan 29, and South Korea 28 companies, playing an important role.
According to statistical data, in January-February 2026, the volume of information and communication services reached 14.776 trillion soms. Within this volume, computer programming services account for 46%, telecommunications services 31.2%, information services 14.3%, and publishing services 6.3%.
These data clearly demonstrate the rapid development of information technology and the information-communication sector in Uzbekistan, as well as the significance of foreign investments in the sector. This will serve to further strengthen our country's digital economy in the future.
