Uzbekistan's import volume grew by almost thirty percent in two months
The first two months of 2026 began for Uzbekistan\'s foreign trade with unprecedented activity and high growth rates. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to a new report from the Statistics Agency, the flow of goods and services entering our country from abroad has significantly expanded. The data on whom our country is trading with the most and who our main partners on the import market are demonstrate economic stability.

Based on the results of January and February 2026, Uzbekistan\'s import indicator amounted to 8.1 billion US dollars. It is noteworthy that this indicator is exactly 29.8 percent higher compared to the same period of last year.

During this short time, our country established trade relations with more than 135 countries of the world and purchased products in various areas. These indicators mean that demand on the domestic market is increasing and that production capacities are expanding.

In delivering products from the foreign market, the People\'s Republic of China traditionally maintains its leadership. During the two months, goods worth 2.8 billion dollars were imported from this country into our country.

This makes up a significant part of the total import volume. In addition, Russia and Kazakhstan also firmly retain their position on the Uzbek market.

1.4 billion dollars worth of goods were brought in from Russia, and 677 million dollars worth from Kazakhstan. Among the main partners, the Republic of Korea took high positions with 306.1 million dollars, Turkey with 259.8 million dollars and Germany with 182.6 million dollars.

India, Belarus, Turkmenistan and the United States of America also took places in the strong top ten. This situation testifies to the fact that the geography of Uzbekistan\'s imports is increasingly expanding and that ties with the world\'s leading economies are being strengthened.

Uzbekistan mainly imports modern technologies, machine-building products and raw materials needed for industry. This reflects the high pace of construction and production in the country.

The imported technical equipment will serve to increase the country\'s export potential and create new jobs in the future. Such positive changes in the economy and the field of foreign trade are further enhancing our country\'s authority on the international arena.
