Uzbekistan saw a significant increase in clothing production volume

In the light industry sector, which is one of the leading branches of Uzbekistan's economy, accelerated growth rates are being observed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In particular, during the first two months of 2026, the volume of clothing production by large enterprises in our country increased significantly. According to data provided by the Statistics Agency, in January and February, finished products worth a total of 4.1 trillion soums were prepared.
This indicator testifies to the growing potential of the textile industry in our republic and the systematic work on meeting the demand of the domestic and foreign markets. When analyzed by region, it can be seen that Andijan Region has gained absolute leadership in product manufacturing.
During the reporting period, large industrial enterprises of the region produced clothing worth 1.8 trillion soums. This constitutes a substantial part of the total indicator recorded across the country.
The next places after Andijan Region were occupied by Tashkent and Namangan Regions. In Tashkent Region, products worth 524.6 billion soums were prepared and brought to the market, and in Namangan – 438.6 billion soums.
Also, Fergana Region and the city of Tashkent are also showing high activity in the industry. In Fergana, the production of clothing worth 371.4 billion soums was recorded, and in our capital – 310.3 billion soums.
Among other regions, Samarkand Region contributed with a figure of 158 billion soums, Bukhara Region – 117.4 billion soums, and Kashkadarya Region – 89 billion soums. At the same time, in the Surkhandarya and Jizzakh regions, the production volume is relatively low and amounted to 10.4 billion and 19.3 billion soums, respectively.
These figures clearly show the territorial distribution of light industry in our country and the opportunities for further increasing production capacities.
