Measures to develop livestock farming and pasture management in Uzbekistan have been determined

Uzbekistan has adopted an important document aimed at taking livestock farming to a completely new level, increasing the volume of production, and modernizing the supply chain based on a contemporary management system. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In accordance with a decision by the head of state, new approaches to developing the livestock and pasture farming sector are being implemented, along with a range of benefits. These measures serve as an important factor in ensuring food security and raising public incomes in our country.
According to the resolution, specific target indicators for sector development have been set for the coming years. For instance, it is planned to increase the industrial processing rate of meat and dairy products to fifty percent.
This indicator will create conditions for delivering not only raw materials, but more finished products with high quality and added value to the consumer market. Furthermore, the main focus is not simply on increasing the number of livestock, but on improving their breed and productivity.
To enhance the efficiency of milk and meat production, the goal is to raise the share of pedigree livestock to ninety percent. Strengthening the feed base is also given a separate place in the new resolution.
Starting from future years, part of the land used for cotton and grain cultivation will be allowed to be used for planting fodder crops. This will help solve the problem of feed supply for livestock and reduce product costs.
As a result, farming households will gain the opportunity to independently provide themselves with quality feed. There is also encouraging news for our fellow citizens engaged in livestock farming in rural households.
In particular, a system of state subsidies will be introduced for pedigree feed obtained through artificial insemination or modern technologies. This incentive mechanism will provide a strong impetus for turning livestock farming in rural areas from a simple means of subsistence into a profitable small business.
At the same time, benefits granted in the form of exemption from value-added tax when importing pedigree livestock from abroad will create significant financial advantages for entrepreneurs. Such systemic changes will help stabilize prices in the domestic market and increase the sector’s export potential.
