280,000 homes are built each year up to 2020

At the beginning of the year, a large-scale program for providing the population with housing was adopted. Zamin.uz reported on this.
According to Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov, it is planned to double the number of houses built annually, increasing it to 280 thousand by 2040. Additionally, the number of "New Uzbekistan" residential areas is set to increase from 61 to 120.
Currently, 20-25 million square meters of commercial buildings are being commissioned annually in the country. According to calculations, housing and commercial buildings alone create a demand for construction materials worth at least 10 billion dollars every year.
At the Tashkent International Investment Forum, infrastructure projects with a total value of 27 billion dollars were offered to partners. These include plans to build a nuclear power plant in the Jizzakh region, a fourth copper enrichment plant in the Tashkent region, and the New Tashkent airport in Orta Chirchiq with a capacity to serve 20 million passengers per year.
Furthermore, the construction of a 55,000-seat football stadium in New Tashkent and a 282-kilometer Tashkent-Samarkand highway is envisioned. A large volume of construction materials will be required to implement these projects.
High requirements for standards, quality, and certification are placed on products used in large-scale facilities. Therefore, the need to create a new system that connects such projects with local construction material manufacturers was highlighted.
