Imports in Uzbekistan reached $16.4 billion

In the Republic of Uzbekistan, imports of goods and services amounted to 16.4 billion dollars in the first four months of 2026. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to report data provided by the National Statistics Committee, the bulk of the expenditures were for machinery and transport equipment. The import volume in this area amounted to 5.5 billion dollars.
This figure represents a 29.1 percent increase compared to January-April of last year. The reasons for such growth are still being studied in detail.
2.5 billion dollars were spent on industrial goods. Imports of chemical products amounted to 2 billion dollars, while imports of food and live animals amounted to 1.9 billion dollars.
The highest growth was recorded in the food sector. This indicator increased by 47.2 percent.
This growth indicates an increase in the population's demand for food products. Imports of services reached 1.6 billion dollars, and mineral fuels and lubricants reached 1.4 billion dollars.
Imports of finished goods amounted to 585.7 million dollars, and non-food raw materials amounted to 464.8 million dollars. These indicators reflect the development trends of the country's economy.
Additionally, 217.7 million dollars were spent on animal and vegetable fats, oils, and waxes. 100.5 million dollars were spent on beverages and tobacco products.
These figures were formed as a result of importing basic goods necessary to meet the daily needs of the population. Overall, the diverse composition of goods and services within imports indicates the stable development of the country's economy.
