Food production volume has significantly increased in Uzbekistan

The Statistics Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan has announced the report on the production of food products by large enterprises in our country for the first five months of the current year. Zamin.uz reported on this.
According to the report, during January-May 2026, large industrial enterprises in our country produced food products totaling 57.2 trillion soums. Compared to the same period last year, this indicator shows a significant increase in production volume of 7.9 percent.
This indicates that efforts to ensure food security in our country's economy and to fill the domestic market with local products are continuing effectively. Analysis conducted by region shows that the highest production volume was recorded in the capital, Tashkent city.
During the five months, enterprises in Tashkent city supplied products worth 10.2 trillion soums. Tashkent and Samarkand regions took the next positions.
Food products worth 7.9 trillion soums were produced in the Tashkent region and 7.7 trillion soums in the Samarkand region. The high industrial potential and the presence of large capacities in these regions are positively influencing the overall growth rates.
Additionally, the production volume in the Andijan and Fergana regions was 4.5 trillion soums. In the Bukhara region, 3.7 trillion soums, and in the Qashqadaryo and Namangan regions, 3.5 trillion soums worth of products were prepared.
In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, this figure amounted to 2.5 trillion soums, and in the Navoi region, 2.4 trillion soums. Food products worth 1.8 trillion soums were produced in Khorezm, 1.7 trillion soums in the Surxondaryo and Sirdaryo regions, and 1.6 trillion soums in the Jizzakh region.
Overall, the production dynamics are developing stably across all regions.
