The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan has established new exchange rates for foreign currencies against the som, effective from October 8, 2026. One.uz reports on this.

According to this information, the official exchange rate of the US dollar increased by 18.40 som, setting one dollar at 11,809.19 som. Meanwhile, a decrease was observed in the value of major currency units such as the euro and the British pound sterling, while the Russian ruble and the Chinese yuan appreciated slightly.

Dynamics of changes in exchange rates A significant decrease was recorded in the exchange rate of the European currency, the euro. Specifically, the euro became 79.64 som cheaper, settling at 13,206.22 som.

The British pound sterling also continued its downward trend, becoming 53.51 som cheaper and reaching 15,602.30 som. The Swiss franc, on the other hand, decreased by 13.72 som and was set at 14,185.21 som.

A slight increase was observed in regional and Asian currencies. The Russian ruble appreciated by 0.37 som, reaching 138.15 som.

The Chinese yuan increased by 2.75 som and was set at 1,761.36 som, while the Japanese yen rose by 0.02 som, reaching 74.65 som. These indicators serve as the primary benchmark for commercial banks and financial institutions in our country for accounting purposes and the execution of customs payments.

The rates established by the Central Bank are formed based on transactions in the currency exchange. These prices do not impose an obligation on the state to sell or buy currency, but rather serve as an official reference for economic analysis and calculations.

Citizens and entrepreneurs must rely on the banks' internal rates when conducting currency exchange operations at commercial banks.
