
Last night, residents of Uzumbog Street in the Olmazor district of Tashkent noticed a strong odor. This was reported by Upl.uz.
The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced this. It was revealed that a leak of hydrogen peroxide occurred in a warehouse located on Uzumbog Street in the Olmazor district.
The leak was completely eliminated by 4:00 AM. The capital's Department of Emergency Situations involved its radiation, chemical, and medical-biological protection units in addressing the leak.
Currently, a thorough investigation is underway to determine the causes of the incident. Representatives of the ministry are not yet providing detailed information about the volume of the leak and its impact on the environment and human health.
Hydrogen peroxide is a colorless chemical compound with strong oxidizing properties. It is used in medicine as an antiseptic, for bleaching and disinfecting at home, and in industry for cleaning and bleaching materials.
At high concentrations, contaminated hydrogen peroxide can pose an explosion hazard.
