
The press service of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office reported that a hidden alcohol production facility was identified during a special operational event conducted in cooperation with the Shahrisabz city administration and law enforcement agencies. This was reported by Upl.uz.
During the inspection, it was revealed that a citizen living in the “Kushhona” neighborhood was illegally producing alcoholic beverages in his home. This individual was producing alcoholic products manually and using counterfeit excise stamps.
During the search conducted at the residence, 1717 ready-to-sell alcohol containers, 25 liters of ethyl alcohol, 6400 counterfeit excise stamps, and other necessary materials for production were found. A criminal case has been initiated based on the articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding “Production and sale of counterfeit money, excise stamps, or securities” and “Illegal production or circulation of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and tobacco products”.
It is emphasized that such crimes will be subject to strict liability before the law. Measures to prevent crime and violations of the law are being continued by the relevant authorities.
