
According to the press service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the rate of women aged 40 to 45 giving birth for the first time has tripled compared to 2024. This was reported by Upl.uz.
In the first half of this year, 3,178 women gave birth for the first time after the age of 40. This figure is 2,105 higher than the same period last year.
Additionally, 42 women over the age of 45, 1,394 women over the age of 50, and 257 women over the age of 60 became parents. Among men, 8 fathers were recorded after the age of 50, and 17 after the age of 70.
The average age of women giving birth to their first child in Uzbekistan is 23 years. The highest number of births was recorded in Samarkand region — 48,769, and in Fergana region — 45,508.
The lowest number of births was in Navoi region — 11,434 and in Syrdarya region — 10,023. Furthermore, the number of marriages among those over 50 has increased by 14.7 percent, with the highest rate observed in Tashkent city.
