A tragic incident occurred at a bakery in the Bukhara district during the night shift. This was reported by Upl.uz.
On July 19, two workers who attempted to move a smoke-extracting metal structure were killed on the spot due to a strong electric shock. Two other colleagues sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a medical facility.
The incident took place in the Shaykhoncha neighborhood, and a serious investigation has begun. According to the district prosecutor's office, four bakery employees attempted to change the location of a ventilation pipe they had prepared.
During the lifting process, a large and unclear structure came into contact with a high-voltage electric wire located approximately three and a half meters above. This contact caused a strong electric shock, leading to the accident.
An investigative team working at the scene has opened a criminal case. The incident is being investigated under Article 257, Part 2, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code regarding violations of labor protection rules.
Forensic examinations have been appointed to determine the causes of death of the deceased and to assess the severity of injuries of those hospitalized. Law enforcement agencies are questioning witnesses and the bakery management.
The goal is to identify all circumstances that led to the tragedy. During the investigation, special attention will be paid to compliance with safety regulations in production and whether necessary instructions were provided to employees.
If the perpetrators are identified, they may face a penalty of up to five years of imprisonment. The human body is composed of 60 percent water, which is a good conductor of electricity.
The resistance of dry skin can be up to 100,000 ohms, but in moist or damaged areas, this figure can drop to 1,000 ohms. Therefore, even if the household voltage is 220 volts, the likelihood of electric shock leading to fatal consequences is high, not to mention high-voltage lines.
