Monitoring activities were conducted by law enforcement agencies to identify cases of illegal use of electricity. As a result, several special devices intended for cryptocurrency mining were found in the home of a resident of the Chust district.
It has been revealed that the criminal illegally connected this equipment to the public network, causing damage to the energy supply organization. According to the preliminary assessment of specialists, the damage amounts to a total of 653 million soums.
Relevant documents have been formalized regarding this case, and they have been submitted to law enforcement agencies to initiate preliminary investigation actions. The criminal may face up to 15 years of imprisonment under Article 169, part four (theft) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
