After a video showing foam on the surface of the Fergana canal spread on social media, specialists from the Ecology Department conducted an unscheduled inspection in the Shirmonbuloq district of Andijan region. This was reported by Upl.uz.
During the inspection, it was found that the physical and chemical composition of the water had changed, and the source of pollution was identified as the wastewater from a nearby sewing-knitting factory. The water used in processing textile products was directly discharged into the canal.
It was determined that the water contained nitrites, nitrates, alkaline compounds, and dyes, which caused the formation of foam and the change in the color of the water. According to the responsible organizations, the identified violations have been eliminated, and the situation has been brought under control.
Thus, necessary measures are being taken to protect the environment
