An official statement was published by the press service of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights. This was reported by Upl.uz.
The committee examined the car sales contracts made with the dealers of "UzAuto Motors" joint-stock company and identified clauses that were contrary to the legislation of Uzbekistan. Based on this, amendments were made to these contracts in collaboration with representatives of "UzAuto Motors".
In particular, the refund period was reduced from 30 days to 10 days. The clause stating that the delivery period could be extended up to 45 days in case of temporary suspension of production was removed and transferred from the obligations section to the "force majeure" section.
Additionally, the clause regarding the extension of the delivery period up to 120 days in case of re-contracting for the same car model within one year was completely removed from the contract. Furthermore, the seller's obligations in accordance with the laws of Uzbekistan are now clearly defined in the contract.
These changes are aimed at protecting customer interests and increasing the transparency of contracts
