
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that a person engaged in the illegal sale of psychotropic drugs was detained in Fergana region. This was reported by Upl.uz.
On July 28, 2024, a special operation was carried out by law enforcement agencies within the framework of the "Safe and Healthy Country" month. During the event, a man born in 1997 was detained while attempting to sell a large quantity of psychotropic drugs.
He was found in possession of 1000 units of the psychotropic drug "Tropicamid," with an estimated market value of about 100 million soums. In total, law enforcement agencies confiscated psychotropic drugs worth 300 million soums.
This price was noted to be set in black market conditions. A criminal case has been initiated under the article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding the "Production, distribution, advertising, demonstration, or illegal circulation of strong-acting, non-narcotic substances, their analogs, or psychotropic substances."
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing.
