The press service of the State Security Service reported that a sentence was pronounced by the Furqat district court against a person who committed a crime. This was reported by Upl.uz.
As a result of investigations, it was found that since 2021, a person living in the city of Qo‘qon opened a channel with extremist content on the "Telegram" messenger and distributed harmful materials to 9 subscribers. Additionally, he was in contact with the leader of an international terrorist organization through the "Instagram" social network and continued to distribute various materials calling for the overthrow of the Syrian government based on his instructions.
Furthermore, the criminal promoted moving to Syria and joining the terrorist organization among his close acquaintances and classmates. According to the court's decision, he was found guilty under the articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan related to public safety and order violations, as well as the creation, management, or participation in religious extremist and other banned organizations.
The court sentenced him to six years of imprisonment.
