According to the press service of the State Security Service, the director of a private company providing geological services located in Samarkand has been detained. This was reported by Upl.uz.
The suspect was caught during a special operational event while receiving 10,000 US dollars. It has been revealed that he established a trusting relationship with a citizen and promised to provide maps and photographs of gold mines in the Samarkand and Jizzakh regions.
The suspect emphasized that the map was confidential and demanded 25,000 dollars for it. According to the conclusions of the relevant authorities, the map intended for sale has no value and is not considered confidential.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
