
The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs published information based on the results of operational-search activities conducted in the first seven months of 2025. This was reported by Upl.uz.
During this period, the main department and district department employees managed to detain 1,168 individuals who were evading criminal responsibility for 2,688 crimes. The detained individuals were categorized according to the following articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan: 6 people under Article 97 (premeditated murder), 12 people under Article 104 (causing serious bodily harm), 4 people under Article 118 (rape), 3 people under Article 135 (human trafficking), 14 people under Article 164 (theft), 6 people under Article 165 (robbery), 18 people under Article 166 (theft), 42 people under Article 167 (theft or robbery of property), 532 people under Article 168 (fraud), 169 people under Article 169 (theft), 24 people under Article 277 (hooliganism), 75 people under Articles 273-276 (crimes related to the illegal circulation of narcotic substances), and 237 people for other crimes.
Among the detainees, there are 73 individuals who had been wanted for years. For example, on March 19, 2025, a woman named Risolat, born in 1977, was wanted under Part 3 of Article 135 (human trafficking) since 2012; on March 4, a man named Bobur, born in 1991, had been wanted under Article 168 (fraud) since 2019; on January 23, a man named Oleg, born in 1984, had been wanted under Article 97 (premeditated murder) since 2019.
As a result of international cooperation, 37 individuals were detained from other countries and extradited to Uzbekistan. During service trips to Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, Tashkent law enforcement agencies ensured the detention of 50 citizens.
Some of them include: Alexander, born in 1982, who was detained in Moscow in January 2025 and returned to Uzbekistan on April 26, wanted under Part 2 of Article 97 (premeditated murder); Gayrat, born in 1980, who was detained in the Moscow region on June 3, wanted under Article 164 (theft) since 2009; and Farrukh, born in 1981, who was detained in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, on April 15, wanted under Article 167 (theft of property) since 2024. The effectiveness of law enforcement agencies is confirmed not only by the number of detained individuals but also by financial results.
As a result of these activities, a total of 212 billion 389 million soums of material damage was compensated at a rate of 89 percent. The department emphasized that no criminal can evade legal responsibility and will eventually face their deserved punishment, sooner or later.
