
According to the press service of the Internal Affairs Department of Samarkand region, individuals involved in human trafficking have been arrested. This was reported by Upl.uz.
A special operational event was held at the Islam Karimov International Airport in Tashkent in cooperation with the internal affairs bodies of Samarkand region and the National Security Service. During the event, two citizens from the Akdariyon district, aged 41 and 31, were arrested.
They were caught while attempting to force two women, aged 23 and 25, who were being sent to India, into sexual services. It was revealed that upon arrival in India, the girls were to be met by their criminal accomplices.
It has been determined that the arrested individuals identified women in difficult life situations in the Samarkand region and offered them illegal work. A criminal case has been initiated under the article "Human Trafficking" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and investigative actions are ongoing.
