The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has signed a new decree introducing changes to the rules for purchasing tickets to football matches. This was reported by Upl.uz.
Starting from March 1, 2026, personal identification will be required when purchasing tickets for any football game. This measure aims to prevent speculation and fraud, problems that especially increase during major competitions.
According to the presidential decree, to digitize the football sector and increase its popularity, a QR-code ticket registration system will be implemented in the country. All technical documentation for this information system is planned to be prepared by the end of December 2025.
The system's creation and integration with other resources will be carried out in February 2026. The implementation of the new measures will be supervised by the Uzbekistan Football Association and the Ministry of Digital Technologies.
The relevant organizations are responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the system and making the ticket purchasing process open and transparent. This, in turn, will serve to protect the rights of football fans.
