The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to the information circulating on social media. This was reported by Upl.uz.
On August 26, 2023, news spread on social media about a 13-year-old Uzbek attempting to commit murder in Turkey. Based on this information, representatives of the Consulate General conducted an investigation and found that the incident occurred on August 22 in the Aksaray region, located 521 kilometers from Istanbul.
No one involved in the incident is an Uzbek citizen, including the accused, born in 2012, and the victim, born in 2000. The Ministry emphasized that the spread of such incorrect information negatively affects the reputation of our country.
Mass media and bloggers should carefully verify information before publishing articles or posts to prevent the dissemination of false information.
