According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, a person wanted for the crime of human trafficking has been detained. This was reported by Upl.uz.
On April 12 of this year, the internal affairs authorities issued a search for a citizen born in 1983 residing in Nukus city. This person is suspected of committing a crime under Part 2 of the “Human Trafficking” article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
They face a punishment of imprisonment from five to ten years. During the conducted operational-investigative measures, it was discovered that the suspect was hiding in Tashkent city.
He was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. Investigative actions regarding his case will continue soon, and ultimately the case will be sent to court.
