
A tragic incident occurred in Almalyk: An officer of the Guard Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs committed suicide using his service weapon. This was reported by Upl.uz.
The Kun.uz news agency reported on this. The incident took place on the morning of August 29.
The 37-year-old officer was on duty in Almalyk and left his shift without handing over his service weapon, going home instead. According to sources, he committed suicide at home.
The press secretary of the Guard Department confirmed to journalists that the incident was tragic. He emphasized that after the shift ends, it is mandatory to hand over the weapon to the battalion, but the officer failed to do so.
Currently, a forensic medical examination has been ordered regarding the death. The causes and circumstances of the incident, as well as other service-related aspects, are being investigated by the prosecutor's office.
