
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued an official statement regarding the incident in Namangan. This was reported by Upl.uz.
On August 14, a 34-year-old resident of Namangan, O. A.
was brought to the internal affairs department due to a family dispute. It was reported that after a preventive conversation, he was sent home the same day.
However, on August 16, O. A.
sought medical assistance due to a deterioration in his health. A regional Ombudsman representative personally took control of the situation.
After reviewing all circumstances, official inquiries were sent to the Namangan regional internal affairs department and the city prosecutor's office. As a result of the investigation, the preventive inspector of the Chust district internal affairs department, Major D.
B., was dismissed from his position.
According to the Ombudsman’s report, his dismissal was due to negligence and disrespect in performing official duties, unjustified absence from the service area, and serious violations of the professional and service ethics code of internal affairs officers. Currently, the Namangan prosecutor's office has initiated a criminal case regarding the injuries sustained by O.
A. The case has been filed under Article 104, Part 1 (“Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm”) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The investigation is ongoing, and the details of the incident are being thoroughly examined.
