Gas supply in the Fergana Valley will be temporarily stopped for 36 hours starting from noon on September 5. This was reported by Upl.uz.
The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced this. In preparation for the summer-winter season, the construction of the "Akhangaran — Pungon" main gas pipeline section located in the mountainous area of the Fergana Valley has been completed.
This new section is approximately 22 kilometers long, and gas supply will be temporarily stopped to complete installation work and connect the new section. The gas supply restrictions will affect gas filling stations and large industrial enterprises in the Fergana, Andijan, and Namangan regions.
These measures have been coordinated with local authorities. To reduce inconvenience to the population, the volume of automobile gasoline sales is planned to be increased on September 5 and 6.
All necessary measures will be taken during the construction work to prevent interruptions in natural gas delivery to households. Therefore, serious problems in gas supply for the population will be avoided.
This temporary stoppage is necessary to strengthen the natural gas infrastructure and ensure reliable operation in the upcoming season.
