
According to the press service of the State Security Service, a man was detained in connection with the illegal circulation and smuggling of strong drugs. This was reported by Upl.uz.
Officers of the State Security Service, in cooperation with internal affairs bodies and the regional customs department, conducted a special rapid operation. During this operation, a citizen born in 1980 and residing in the city of Kokand was detained while traveling on the "Fergana-Kokand" route in his "Tracker" vehicle.
Upon inspection of the vehicle, 11,200 units of the strong psychotropic drug "Regapen" were found and confiscated as evidence. It was revealed that this individual had previously been held accountable under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan for "Smuggling" and "Illegal production, purchase, storage, and other actions with narcotic substances, their analogues, or psychotropic substances, including their sale."
During the investigation, it was established that this strong drug was smuggled from the territory of Kyrgyzstan. A criminal case was initiated against the man under Part One of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on "Smuggling" and Part Five on "Illegal production, distribution, advertising, demonstration, or illegal circulation of non-narcotic strong substances and toxic substances."
The criminal may face imprisonment from 7 to 10 years. The investigation is ongoing.
