From the new academic year, a new form of financial incentive – the state scholarship named after Abdulla Avloniy – will be awarded to senior students of pedagogical higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This measure is aimed at enhancing the prestige of the teaching profession and supporting talented young people who choose to work in the national education system in the future. The amount of the new scholarship is 1.4 million soums, which is almost twice the standard academic scholarship.
It is intended for third- and fourth-year undergraduate students. This initiative covers higher education institutions across the country in 13 profiles and includes a total of 74,500 potential scholarship recipients.
The introduction of the scholarship is part of a broader strategy to strengthen and modernize the national education system. This financial support aims to encourage the academic and scientific activities of future educators.

Earlier, Sherzodxon Qudrathodja, rector of the University of Journalism and Mass Communications, asked the residents and organizations of Tashkent to assist in accommodating students who come from the regions and cannot find places in dormitories. He emphasized that this problem arises every year and that not all higher education institutions are able to fully provide accommodation for students coming from outside the capital.
The Abdulla Avloniy scholarship is awarded in honor of a prominent Uzbek enlightener, a playwright, poet, and educator of the early 20th century, who made a significant contribution to the development of new-style schools in Turkestan.
