
On September 7, the number of fatalities in the terrible accident that occurred in Angren reached 11. This was reported by Upl.uz.
Initially, it was reported that 7 people had died, but according to updated information from the Fergana regional administration, 4 more people died in the accident. The accident happened as a result of the Shacman truck driver losing control at a railway crossing.
The out-of-control truck collided with two trucks and five passenger cars standing on the road. In addition to those who died at the scene, five people were hospitalized with various injuries, and medical assistance was provided on-site to four others.
The governor of Fergana region instructed to provide medical, financial, and psychological assistance to the families of the deceased and injured, as well as to organize funeral ceremonies. To prevent such tragedies in the future, a transport infrastructure audit has been scheduled.
Foreign advanced experience will be analyzed to study the causes of the accident and to improve cargo transportation regulations.
