
The press service of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office announced that the sale of counterfeit alcohol has been stopped. This was reported by Upl.uz.
A special rapid operation was conducted by the Department employees in the Samarkand region. During the operation, an inspection was carried out at the store belonging to “G.A.” LLC located in the “Parrandachilik” mahalla of the Samarkand district.
The inspection revealed that illegal sales of counterfeit alcoholic beverages were taking place in this store, and a total of 4,218 bottles of fake vodka and 1,720 packs of cigarettes without documents were confiscated. The total value of the seized goods amounted to 134.7 million soums.
It was noted that counterfeit excise stamps were affixed to the bottles of fake vodka. A criminal case was initiated under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan for “Manufacturing and selling counterfeit money, excise stamps, or securities” as well as “Illegal production or sale of ethanol spirit, alcohol, and tobacco products.”
Investigation actions are currently underway.
