The law on amendments to the Tax Code was signed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by Upl.uz.
These changes simplify the procedure for accounting overpaid taxes and expand the possibilities for their use. Previously, if a taxpayer had an overpayment, it could only be accounted for future tax payments of the same type.
Now, according to the amendments made to Article 103 of the Tax Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the overpaid or incorrectly claimed tax amount will be refunded to the taxpayer or can be accounted for future taxes of the same or different type, provided there is no debt. Additionally, the time frame for reviewing such applications has been significantly reduced.
If previously it took up to 15 days to account for overpayments for other types of taxes, now the tax authorities are required to carry this out within just three working days based on the taxpayer's written or electronic request. These changes aim to enhance the efficiency of the tax system and provide convenience for taxpayers.
