
The law enforcement agencies of the Leningrad region reported that they arrested a 29-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan as the main suspect in a case of intentional property damage in the city of Otrodnoy. This was reported by Upl.uz.
The incident occurred on July 7, between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM, in the area of a private house on 8th Line Street. It was determined that the suspect entered the private land without any obstacles and set fire to an outbuilding.
The owner of the damaged building, a 40-year-old resident of Otrodnoy, reported the incident to the police. He is currently unemployed.
According to preliminary estimates, the fire caused material damage amounting to 115,000 rubles. A criminal case has been opened regarding this incident, and investigative actions are ongoing.
On July 9, police officers identified the suspect and arrested him. He is a citizen of Uzbekistan and had been living temporarily in the village of Repino.
According to the migration service, he entered the territory of Russia for the purpose of labor activity in April 2024, but was not officially employed at the time of his arrest. The suspect is officially registered in the migration account.
The arrested individual is currently in temporary custody in accordance with procedural rules. The investigation is determining the causes of the crime and all circumstances.
