Former president of Uzbekistan's Lokomotiv club, Olga Smorodskaya, commented on the transfer of Moscow team's defender Ilya Samoshnikov to Spartak. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to her, Lokomotiv focuses on developing young players and selling them, and this process is going successfully. Smorodskaya does not consider Samoshnikov's move to Spartak a major loss, as Lokomotiv has enough players.
Ilya Samoshnikov joined Lokomotiv in the summer of 2023. In the current season, he has appeared twice in the Russian Premier League and Cup competitions but has not managed to score a goal.
Lokomotiv expects to earn 3.7 million euros from the defender's sale, a sum calculated without bonuses. At the same time, Samoshnikov's transfer is expected to be financially beneficial for the club.
This situation especially allows the continuation of the policy of developing and selling young and promising players. Overall, the Lokomotiv team continues to renew and strengthen its squad.
