Sergey Balakhnin, former head coach of Russia's "Rostov" team and coach of the Russian national team, shared his thoughts in an interview with the online publication "Euro-Football.Ru" about why he does not see the "Rubin" team as a contender for prize-winning positions this season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized his respect for the "Rubin" team but stated that the squad is not sufficient to compete for the top three spots. According to Balakhnin, the "Spartak" team is strengthening, and both "CSKA" and "Zenit" are working on improving their games.
For this reason, they will reach a different level, but "Rubin" is still not a top-level team, he stressed. Currently, "Rubin" is in fourth place in the Russian championship standings.
The Kazan team has lost only one game, which was against "CSKA" with a score of 1:5. "Rubin" has 10 points.
According to Balakhnin, despite the team's improvement, it is difficult to achieve top positions with the current squad.
