Moscow "Torpedo" club announced the appointment of Sergey Zhukov as acting head coach. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
58-year-old Zhukov will prepare the team for the upcoming PARI League match against "Ufa". Previously, he managed the "Torpedo" youth team.
The match between Torpedo and Ufa will take place on Wednesday, September 3. Currently, the "automakers" occupy 17th place in the Russian second-tier football division standings.
The team has collected only four points so far, including one win, one draw, and five losses. It is worth noting that "Torpedo" was initially scheduled to play in the Russian Premier League, but the team was expelled from the elite after being accused of attempting to organize fixed results in matches held in the spring.
As a result, the team is currently continuing its games in a lower league.
