The head coach of the Russian national team, Valeriy Karpin, emphasized that Spartak's midfielder Nail Umyarov still needs to work on himself. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to the coach, the player should improve the main qualities of a central midfielder and take previous strong defenders as examples. If Umyarov asks in which aspects he should develop and whom to take as a role model, Karpin mentioned Gattuso and Makelele as examples.
In the current season, Umyarov has played in seven matches for the "red and white" team and provided one assist. At the same time, he was not called up to the national team for the friendly matches against Jordan and Qatar in September.
It is important for Umyarov to continue working on himself and to reach a higher level in upcoming games.
