Al-Ahli's midfielder Mihel Vlap commented on why his transfer to Moscow's Spartak club did not happen. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Earlier, the 28-year-old player had played for Twente, and it was this club that was negotiating with the "red-whites" team. However, in the end, no agreement was reached between the two clubs.
In an interview with ESPN, Vlap said, "The situation with Spartak ended like this: the club officials could not come to an agreement, so I personally did not have to make a choice, yes, that's basically how it was." According to him, after it became known that a move to Russia was possible, his relatives pressured him, creating an uncomfortable situation.
As a result, Vlap decided to go to Qatar. He emphasized that his main goal was to secure financial benefits for the Twente club.
