Former Russian Premier League clubs' head coach Viktor Gancharenko explained that Konstantin Zyryanov's appointment as chairman of Zenit's management will be a positive factor for the team's head coach Sergey Semak. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Earlier, it became known that Zyryanov replaced Aleksandr Medvedev, who had been managing the club since 2023. According to Gancharenko, Zyryanov's arrival will help Semak because he understands the coach well and will act as an intermediary in accurately conveying his ideas.
Additionally, he will contribute to correctly understanding Bogdanovich's work for Miller. For this reason, the specialist emphasized on the "Komment.Shou" program that this change will be positive for the coaches.
However, Gancharenko also added that Zenit is a very large organization and a single personnel change will not have a significant impact. Currently, after seven rounds in the Russian Premier League standings, Zenit is in fifth place with 12 points.
In the 2024/2025 season, the club failed to win the championship title for the first time in seven years and did not win any trophies in its centenary year.
